Lucy Maud Montgomery (1874–1942) was a Canadian writer. Best known for her novel Anne of Green Gables, which is one of the most beloved and bestselling children’s books of all time, Montgomery is also the author of many other novels, as well as hundreds of poems and short stories. “Christmas at Red Butte” was first published in 1909.
