Alison Hughes has published 17 books for young people, with translations into Dutch, Korean, Turkish and French. She has won the Writers’ Union Writing for Children Award and has been a finalist for the Governor General’s Literary Awards, the Alberta Literary Awards, and nine times for provincial children’s choice awards. Her short fiction has been short- and long-listed for the Writers’ Union Short Fiction Competition and the CBC Literary Awards. Hughes works as a writing advisor/editor at the University of Alberta.
